Expanish - Viamonte 927, 1 A y B

From the Obelisco:

Our institute is located in downtown Buenos Aires, one block from Avenida 9 de Julio. One of the simplest ways to find us is from the city landmark called the Obelisco. The Oblesico is situated on Avenida 9 de Julio, between Carlos Pellegrini and Cerrito, with Avenida Corrientes crossing through all three.

From the Oblesico, walk up Carlos Pellegrini (numbers rising) until you reach the cross street Viamonte. From here, take a right onto Viamonte and we are located half a block up, on the left.

Forms of Transportation to Arrive at Expanish

SUBTE (Subway)

There are a total of 5 subway lines in the city, and 3 of them will take out within blocks of our Expanish institute.

Linea B Line B runs through the Almagro, Palermo, downtown

Take Line B in the direction of Leandro N. Alem, and exit at the station named Carlos Pellegrini. When you exit the station look for the Oblesico and take our directions from there.

Linea C Line C runs through Retiro, downtown, San Telmo

Take Line C if the direction of Constitucion and exit at the station named Diagonal Norte. When you exit the station look for the Oblesico and take our directions from there.

Linea D Line D runs through Belgrano, Palermo, Barrio Norte, downtown

Take Line D in the direction of Catedral and exit at the station named Tribunales, from here, Lavalle to arrive at Avenida 9 de Julio and you will see the Oblesico within one block. Take our directions from the Oblesico.

COLECTIVO (BUS)

Buenos Aires has a multitude of buses that visit every region, area, and neighbourhood and with the help of a bus guide (Guia-T), can be a cheap and easy way to travel around the city. For volunteers who do not quite have a grasp of the city, we recommend walking or taking the subway or a taxi to arrive at Expanish for the first time around. Once you arrive at the school, our staff will help you find the appropriate bus to take to arrive within a block from our institute as well as direct you where to buy a Guia-T.

TAXI

A taxi is a safe, fast, and easy way to get around the city and often does not cost more than $2-10US dollars, depending on the length of the destination. At Expanish we always recommend that you take a registered taxi when you will be traveling late at night, when the buses are less frequent and the subway line is closed, in order to be as safe and secure as possible. Taking a registered taxi is also a good idea if traveling with any valuables or traveling to a location that you have not visited before or that you know is not one of the most secure or foreign friendly areas.
