Activities & Workshops

Expanish offers volunteers a myriad of weekly activities to participate in during their time abroad in Buenos Aires. These activities give volunteers a chance to explore the city, learn about the culture, meet new people from around the world, and create a complete volunteer and travel abroad experience.

Activities are offered every day of the week, and are usually free or include a small fee like an entrance or meal cost. Ask the Expanish staff for more details.

Expanish encourages its volunteers to participate in our exciting and educational workshops in or near Buenos Aires. Workshops give our volunteers the chance to learn new and fun skills outside of their volunteer placement, as well as meet other foreigners and locals.

Our workshops come in packages of 2, 4, or 8 classes. We recommend that volunteers reserve a spot in the workshops of their choice before or shortly after arrival in order to confirm their place.

Tango

This seductive dance, famous to Argentina, is taught through formal dance steps, dance floor practice, and is offered to beginners, intermediates, and advanced learners.

Details: 2.5 hours/class (1 group and 1 individual lesson).

Polo

Learn to play polo, the famous sport of Argentina, at a local estancia (Argentine ranch); this workshop includes a polo class in the morning and afternoon, an asado (Argentine barbeque) for lunch, and horseback riding or watching a polo game in the evening. Over night stay includes lodging, extra dinner and breakfast.
