Volunteer trip preparation for Argentina
Travel preparation is an essential part of any volunteer experience and we strongly encourage that all volunteers take the time to put together their own travel preparation checklist and make sure they have everything they will need while volunteering in Argentina.
Remember: once you register with Expanish and before your program begins, we will email you a complete Pre Arrival Information Pack which will be extremely helpful in your preparation!

Toiletries
- Travel size toiletries are a great way to have everything you need with less space and less weight. Once you arrive in Buenos Aires, you can buy regular size toiletries.
Medications

First Aid Kit
- A first aid kit is always recommendable. Be sure it includes adhesive bandages, scissors, sterile gauze pads, adhesive tape, and bandages.
Health Appointments
- If you are on a volunteer program for 3 months or more have both a medical and dental check up appointment before you leave home.
Eye ware
- Pack spare contact lenses/ and or spectacles with your optical prescription.
Entertainment
- Many volunteers travel with ipods, mp3 players, or other electronic devices. These are sure to liven up your long walks or bus rides, but remember to always keep them close.
Books
- A phrase book or dictionary comes in very handy while volunteering abroad. Buy one of those little pocket size books, we guarantee you'll be happy you did.
Other items to purchase/bring
- Buy one or two padlocks so that you have the option of locking up your bag, suitcase, or a locker.
- Bring a travel alarm clock; this will come in very handy for those early morning wake up times.
- If you are bringing any electronics or a laptop, bring an adapter with you so that you can plug in these little gadgets anywhere you go.
Family & Friends
- Give your family and friends all of your contact information and emergency numbers abroad.
