Overview
Volunteers will have the opportunity to volunteer in various schools, educational facilities and centers helping educate youths and adults in Buenos Aires. Volunteers are needed to assist students with their English school work, conduct English lessons, and participate in various games and activities, promoting the importance of education in local communities.
The Teaching English in Argentina volunteer program strives to improve the lives of locals who do not have access to some of the educational advantages, such as bilingual institutes, that many middle class youths and adults do in Buenos Aires.
Range of Responsibilities
Volunteers will have the opportunity to offer their teaching services to locals who have little or no contact with English speakers, offering English lessons and help with English school work, as well as participate in educational games and activities and offer important information regarding health and safety. Many of these locals are looking to improve their current situation and are genuinely interested in spending quality time with volunteers learning English or playing games, giving our volunteers the chance to positively help to shape the future of young Buenos Aires residents.
Example Tasks
Offer assistance in the following:
- English Study Sessions
- Teaching English (grammar, conversation)
- Help with children's English homework
- Reading children's English books
- Educational workshops
- Information about health and safety
- Basic education classes (hygiene, nutrition, etc)
- Games & activities
