Overview
Help improve the overall quality of life of homeless residents in Buenos Aires through educational workshops, community meetings, and information sessions. Volunteers will offer aid and support to homeless residents who have nowhere else to turn to for help.
Our Helping the Homeless program focuses on improving the lives of local residents, both adults and children, who have no home in Buenos Aires. Encouraging education, hard work, and self sustainability, volunteers will assist the homeless in various ways to create a better future for themselves and their families.
Range of Responsibilities
Volunteers will work with local residents, both children and adults, who are homeless in Buenos Aires, offering educational workshops and information sessions, participating in games and activities with children and adolescents, assisting in distributing daily meals, or providing important information about health and safety. Volunteers may also work closely with homeless residents, offering information and encouraging self sustainability, including the independent sale of a local magazine, as well as sharing and discussing ideas that will help them improve their lives for the future.

Offer assistance in the following:
- Organize and execute daily tasks
- Offer assistance in daily activities
- Assist in the distribution of a local magazine (distributed by locals)
- Promote self sustainability

Why this Project needs YOU
Buenos Aires is home to 13 million inhabitants and like other large cities, faces challenges such as homelessness. Since the economic fall in 2001, the city has seen the number of homeless residents rise, and there is a strong and immediate need to find these residents the help they deserve. While local assistance for this population is present, there is always a need for additional volunteers from abroad. Working with a vulnerable population not only benefits those in need, but also provides an environment of growth and learning for the volunteer.
