The Next Weekend Getaway: Rest and Relaxation!

If you are in a volunteer placement in Buenos Aires and have been thinking of taking a relaxing weekend away with your friends or fellow volunteers, there are many places throughout Argentina that are beautiful to visit but if you are looking to relax in a beautiful city, there is one must-see place that cannot be compared to any other…
The city of Rosario, located only 300km from Buenos Aires and on the beautiful Rio Parana, is known for its tranquility and beauty, as well as one of the number one weekend destinations for residents of Buenos Aires. Considered an important city in Argentina due to its shipping port, railroad terminal, and shipping point for the eastern provinces, Rosario’s population continues to grow as does its city centre, and construction of business and residential areas.
Due to its high tourism numbers, young residents, and long history, Rosario is a city full with community centres, art galleries and museums, and hosts plenty of shows, concerts, and other cultural events all year long. The city also offers up plenty of great restaurants, cafes, and bar, especially alongside the river where a variety of delicious seafood is served. The nightlife is also great in Rosario, especially during the summer months when groups of locals and foreigners head to the streets and local venues to dance until the early morning hours.
If you are living and volunteering abroad in Buenos Aires and are looking to take a weekend away from the ‘big city’, head to Rosario for some cultural, cuisine, and just an unforgettable time!
