How to Choose the Right Volunteer Program in Buenos Aires
Trying to decide which volunteer program in Buenos Aires is right for you?
Sometimes choosing a cause to volunteer for can be difficult, especially for first-time volunteers, so we have put together a few tips in order to place you in your perfect volunteer program!
What are you interested in?
Is there a cause or area that you are interested in? If this is the case, you should begin there and start searching for placements that are related. This is often the best way to kick off a search because you will have a general idea of what you are looking for and yet still end up with a lot to choose from.
Do you have any special skills, education, or work experience that you could apply in a volunteer placement?
Once you have an idea of the type of placement(s) that would be of interested to you, take a look at your own skills and abilities and see if there are any matches. For example, perhaps you already have experience or education that would fit perfectly in a particular volunteer placement.
How much and for how long do you want to volunteer?
Think of what kind of volunteering schedule you are interested in. Are you coming abroad for one month of 6 months to volunteer? Do you want to stay in one place or combine your volunteer with traveling? Would you like to study on the side? Each of these should be answered and then compared to the volunteer placements that interest you. There are some volunteer placements in Buenos Aires that require a set amount of volunteer hours per week and set amount of months; check this beforehand to make sure you are applying for a placement that fits your schedule.
