Volunteers in an Environmental volunteer placement in Buenos Aires~ Don’t miss this event!
For the second year in a row, Buenos Aires is featuring the Festival Sustentable (Sustainable Festival) organized by Diseño Sustentable which will take place at the Botanical Gardens of Buenos Aires.
This festival features more than 100 products and projects by Argentine designers, each combining elements of economical, ecological and social sustainability, in order to aid in the development of environmental awareness in Argentina.
Products/Projects Exhibited
- cardboard furniture
- street and urban furniture made out of recycled plastics and rustic husk
- bio-mass heaters
- solar ovens
- low consuming street lights
- social and fair commerce projects
- accessories made out of used materials
- clothing made from organic materials (cotton, wood pulp)
- products made from biodegradable material
- products made out of standard industry pieces
The event will take place between November 12 & 15; the exhibit of products and projects will be open everyday from 12:00-7:00pm.
Highlights
November 12
- 3pm: Talk about “Green Building” (Sustainable Construction)
- 3pm: Talk about Natural and Organic Foods
November 13
- 2pm: Film about “The next economy, transitions from Globalization to Eco-localism.
- 3pm: Workshop about Natural Agriculture
November 14
- 2pm: Film by Al Gore, the Uncomfortable Truth. (about global warming)
- 8-2am: Music/DJ/Live Band
November 15
- 4pm: Talk about using natural products and materials
